My name is Saane Faaofo Oldehaver and I am blessed to be the principal of Weymouth Primary School in South Auckland. I have been in education for over 30 years and believe we are truly blessed as principals to serve in a school and a community. As a pasifika principal I live and lead by the following Samoan proverb, "O le ala ile pule o le tautua", which means "the pathway to leadership is through service". I truly believe our role is to serve our teachers, children and families in order to create as many opporunities as possible for our children to achieve the successes they so deserve in life. I am a member of NZPPA (New Zealand Pasifika Principals Association) and I advocate strongly for our Pasifika communities through our Pasifika Education Plan, and also a supportive of schools to action the plans. I was a leadership advisor in 2024 and I worked across Auckland supporting principals in their leadership roles. Education is ever changing and it is our role to continue to grow our knowledge and skills to support our teachers to succeed as they advocate for their learners. Malo aupito
