Karen Brisco

I am the principal of Ōmata School, a semi-rural school in Taranaki, New Zealand, and have been a principal for over 25 years. Currently, I serve as the Finance Convenor on the New Zealand Principals' Federation executive, overseeing learning support, rural education, business partnerships, and conferences. Being a part of ICP and attending two ICP conferences has been a highlight of my professional journey, offering invaluable global insights and connections. My passion lies in fostering strong, inclusive learning environments and advocating for the unique needs of rural schools. I am excited to welcome principals from around the world to Auckland in 2026 for an inspiring and enriching experience.
